Grand Junction's premiere diesel engine machine shop.
Whether you’re restoring reliability or building for performance, we deliver engines that are ready to handle serious work. We live and breathe diesel engines.
Every measurement, every surface, every component matters. We treat your engine like it’s our own.
Engine
Machining
Every cut is measured and verified to meet strict clearance, tolerance and finish requirements. This ensures correct sealing, smooth operation, and long-term durability under load. We machine every engine as if it’s going back into heavy-duty service and don’t cut any corners.
Complete
Diesel Rebuilds
Our diesel rebuilds are complete, from teardown to final assembly, focusing on durability and precision. We inspect every component to identify wear, damage, or failure points before rebuilding begins. Nothing is reused unless it meets strict quality standards.
Crankshaft
Work
We perform detailed crankshaft inspection, measurement, and polishing to ensure proper rotation and bearing performance. Any wear, scoring, or damage is identified early to prevent future failure. Straightness and journal condition are verified with precision tools.
Our machining process meets or exceeds OEM specifications, with attention to finish quality.
OEM Quality Rebuilds
Precision-machined to exact OEM tolerances for proper fit, sealing, and long-term reliability
Update Your Block to Modern Standards
Surface finishes optimized for modern gasket materials, including MLS applications.

Frequently asked questions.
How do I know my engine needs machining?
Common signs include head gasket failure, overheating, low compression, or visible warping on the head or block. If your engine has high miles or has experienced a failure, machining is often necessary to restore proper sealing and function.
Even if damage isn’t obvious, precision measurements often reveal wear that can’t be ignored. Machining ensures surfaces are true and components operate within proper tolerances.
What is block decking and why is it important?
Block decking is the process of machining the top surface of the engine block to make it perfectly flat. This ensures the cylinder head sits evenly and seals correctly with the head gasket.
Without proper decking, even a new gasket can fail under diesel compression and boost. A flat, properly finished surface is critical for long-term reliability.
Why is surface finish critical for head gaskets?
Modern diesel engines use MLS (multi-layer steel) head gaskets that require a very specific surface finish to seal properly. If the finish is too rough or too smooth, it can lead to leaks or failure.
We machine surfaces to precise specifications so the gasket can properly “bite” and seal under high pressure. This is especially important for boosted and performance applications.

Why is crankshaft polishing necessary?
Over time, crankshaft journals develop minor wear, scoring, or imperfections that can affect bearing performance. Polishing restores a smooth surface for proper oil film and lubrication.
Without this step, even new bearings can wear prematurely. A properly finished crankshaft helps maintain oil pressure and ensures long-term durability.
How long does a rebuild typically take?
Turnaround time depends on the condition of the engine and the level of machining required. Standard rebuilds typically take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
More complex builds, performance upgrades, or parts availability can extend that timeline. We prioritize doing the job right over rushing the process.
Do you build performance diesel engines?
Yes, we can build diesel engines for both reliability and performance applications. Whether you want a strong daily driver or a high-output setup, machining and assembly are tailored to your goals.
We focus on proper clearances, precise machining, and balanced rotating assemblies to handle increased power. Every performance build is still engineered with durability in mind so it can survive real-world use, not just dyno numbers.
